Dr Paul O Arnold

Dr. Arnold graduated from Hampden-Sydney College and then spent a year in postgraduate studies in Microbiology and Immunology at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond.  He earned his medical degree from VCU's Medical College of Virginia.  He completed his training in Internal Medicine at VCU Health System where he received several distinctions including the Intern's Scholar Award, Outstanding Junior Resident, and the Excellence in Teaching Award.  Afterwards, he continued into his gastroenterology fellowship at VCU Health System.  During this time, he published several book chapters and scientific publications.  He also participated in clinical studies utilizing novel endoscopic therapies, especially for patients with Barrett's esophagus.  Currently, his clinical interests include colorectal cancer screening and surveillance, Barrett's esophagus and therapies, acid peptic disorders, and pancreaticobiliary diseases.  He is active in several national societies.
