Fasika Aberra Md

Fasika Aberra, M.D. earned her undergraduate and medical degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Upon graduation, she pursued her internal medicine residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. She then served as a hospitalist at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro, TN prior to pursuing her gastroenterology fellowship at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. After completion of GI fellowship, she worked at Sentara Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, VA as a staff gastroenterologist for 2 years before joining Gastroenterology Associates P.C. in July 2021. Dr. Aberra is interested in all areas of gastrointestinal care. She is passionate about quality improvement initiatives in GI, women's health in GI, nutrition, addressing disparities in colorectal cancer screening as well as educating and motivating patients to engage in their healthcare.

Dr. Aberra lives in Gainesville, VA with her husband, 2 daughters, and her Great Dane named Zeus. She enjoys outdoor activities including taking long walks, running, watching biographical movies and continuing to learn all the latest developments in her field. She is looking forward to serving her community.

She is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, American College of Gastroenterology, American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and American Medical Association.
